The Idea
The Million Bags 4 Life Project was conceived by
Skymark Packaging Solutions Ltd as part of our Environmentally Sustainable Packaging Project and a positive contribution to the environment we all live in. It is well documented that over 17˝ billion plastic bags are given away by super markets each year, that's 290 per person for the population of the UK.
Reusing bags is the way forward, however they cost money, and customers needs encouragement to change there habits into and more environmental friendly lifestyle. This is why we will be giving these Bags 4 Life shopping bags to major supermarkets and retailers nationally without charge to distribute to their customers; hence reducing the number of plastic bags that are needlessly given away.
The bags are primarily made of polypropylene and are intended to last for a long time. As these are reusable items, we do not need to think about the recyclabelity or degradability of them, but for the record, they are recyclable.
What will you do with the money?
The objective of the project is to invest the revenue on "Green Projects" such as increasing our recovering, reclaim, recycling and capabilities, energy and waste reduction projects and development of more environmentally friendly packaging concepts.
We will do it through Skymark Packaging Solutions Ltd (SPS) who does all of the recovery, reclaim and recycling for the Skymark and is an accredited recycling site too.
Furthermore 10% of the nett profit will go to charities which have taken space on the bag (for free) too.
Why should I support you and place an advertisement?
To promote your company as one that supports the reduction of plastic waste. You will have an image and a link to your web site from the www.MillionBags4Life.com site which will be seen by millions of people over the coming years.
Deals for sponsors, commercial and charity / local:
- Deal for sponsors is as stated above, i.e. web presence and link to their site plus their advert on 1,000,000 pieces of attractive Million Bags 4 Life shopping bags.
- Charities: About 65,000 mm˛ of the bag is assigned for advertisement of selected chosen charities and a share of 10% of profits of project is also distributed evenly between them on completion of the project too.

Skymark is a new breed of packaging company, whose approach to the environmental issues facing us in the 21st Century is both innovative and responsible. The concept of Million Bags 4 Life is to act as a 'non-profit' enterprise by investing the generated revenue on 'Green Projects' such as increasing our recovering, reclaim, recycling and capabilities, energy and waste reduction projects and development of more environmentally friendly packaging concepts.
As a manufacturer of premium quality flexible packaging solutions for a variety of market sectors, the company recognises the importance of protecting and working in harmony with the environment.
Their intention is to improve and to reduce the negative effect that packaging has on the environment. This is being achieved through the implementation of sound environmental management system, and accreditation to ISO 14001, and recover, recycle, reuse post consumer and post industrial waste. To this end the Million Bags 4 Life project is a step towards Skymark's Carbon Neutrality Project be means of offset. The company complies with all the relevant environmental legislations and other requirements.

Skymark Policy
Skymark is a manufacturer and flexographic printer of premium quality flexible packaging solutions for a variety of market sectors. The company recognises the importance of protecting and working in harmony with the environment.
Our intention is to improve and to minimise the negative effect of our operation has on the environment. This will be achieved through the implementation of environmental management system and accreditation to ISO 14001. To this end the company will comply with all the relevant environmental legislations and other requirements.
The company is committed to continuous improvement and to the prevention of pollution. Our environmental goals include the reduction of VOC emissions emitting into the atmosphere, achieve energy efficiency, reduce the amount of waste generated and to re-cycle and re-use materials where economically practicable which will minimise the need for disposal through land fill.
A continuous dialogue will be established and maintained between Skymark, the legal authorities, suppliers, customers and employees relating to issues relevant to the company. Skymark recognises that the participation of all concerned parties is an inherent part of the policy, and is essential to the success of the environmental management system. Environmental training shall be provided to all employees to ensure that they act with due diligence with regards to environmental issues.
The Directors will review the policy and the environmental management system annually. Copies of this policy will be available to the public on request.
